Empowering Staff Wellbeing at Wirral Grammar School for Boys

The impact has been clear and powerful. Headteacher Simon Ashcroft reported improvements in staff sleep quality, healthier eating habits, and a noticeable shift in how staff approach physical activity – exercising more regularly and in ways that work for them. Staff have also shared how these changes have improved their overall health and wellbeing, leaving them more energised and resilient to the demands of school life.

This collaboration is a wonderful example of what’s possible when organisations invest in the wellbeing of their teams and people. By focusing on sleep, movement, nutrition, and mindset, we’ve helped Wirral Grammar School for Boys create a culture where staff health is prioritised – for their own benefit and for the pupils they support every day.

Project Description

At Sean Bailey Wellness, we believe that healthy, thriving staff are the foundation of a successful workplace. That’s why we were delighted to partner with Wirral Grammar School for Boys to deliver a series of transformative INSET days, designed to equip teachers with the tools to improve their own health and wellbeing – and ultimately support the pupils they inspire every day.

Project Details

Over the course of four INSET sessions, we focused in on:

  • Sleep – helping staff understand the science of restorative sleep and practical strategies to improve their sleep quality.
  • Nutrition – empowering teachers to make healthier food choices and develop sustainable eating habits.
  • Exercise – encouraging movement that fits around busy schedules and showing how small changes can deliver big results.
  • Mindset, Stress & Resilience – building skills to manage stress, enhance resilience, and foster a positive mindset in and out of the classroom.
