The Youth Active Living Project (YALP) is a transformative initiative in partnership with Cradle to Career, created to guide at-risk youth in Halton Lea toward brighter futures. Through activities that promote health, well-being, and education, we aim to inspire resilience, build confidence, and open doors to new opportunities.

Whether through sports, mental health support, or educational initiatives, we’re here to make a difference for young people in Halton Lea and beyond.

About the Youth Active Living Project

At the heart of YALP is a commitment to providing free, inclusive, and ongoing opportunities for young people to engage, grow, and thrive. We believe in creating an environment where every child feels welcome and supported, regardless of their circumstances.

Our activities are open to all children living in Halton Lea and the surrounding areas. If your child is ready to explore new opportunities, meet others, and build lifelong skills, they’re eligible to join us.

Community Activities

The Youth Active Living Project, is committed to providing young people with free and ongoing access to a variety of exciting sports and physical activities. Our goal is to empower the youth of Halton Lea through engaging and fun sessions that promote health, wellness, and an active lifestyle.

We believe in the power of sport and physical activity to inspire, motivate, and transform lives. Our innovative sessions will provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and benefit from.

From 3v3 street soccer to street cricket, basketball, fitness sessions, boxing, tennis, swimming, and rowing, all sessions are coached with young peoples needs in mind.

Our Services

The range of services we provide to schools allows us to support children at early early years through to all key stage levels using our age appropriate delivery.

Mental Health and Wellbeing: Building Resilience and Confidence

The Youth Active Living Project, has been developed to support young people with free and ongoing mental health, wellbeing and learning opportunities.

We understand the current mental health challenges that young people and families experience, and we are committed to supplying free support services that promote and encourage recovery.

Mental health and well-being sessions will include yoga, ‘Next Step’ coaching, counselling, sleep and nutrition clinics, peer-led mental health groups, also drug and alcohol focus activities.

All mental health and wellbeing sessions will be available in groups and individually by appointment. We encourage family involvement in sessions where relevant.

Support for Schools and Further Education

YALP isn’t just for individual families; we also partner with schools and colleges to provide targeted support for students at risk of negative behaviours or in need of alternate pathways to success.

EmpowerED Programme

This six-week journey combines physical activity, mental health support, and coaching to help at-risk students build resilience and rediscover their confidence. Delivered at our facilities, it’s a structured and supportive environment where young people can grow.

Strengthening Minds Initiative

Through lived-experience mental health talks, this programme provides relatable and inspiring insights for students. Sessions can be delivered as one-offs or as part of a series, tailored to the school’s needs.
