Our Coaching Academy is suitable for young people aged 11 and upwards that have an interest in either sports, performing arts, leadership or coaching in general.
Our Coaching Academy creates positive Role Models both in and out of school, developing individuals into Young Leaders, Mentors and Coaching Champions.
We have 8 spaces per Coaching Academy that are fully funded regardless of circumstances.
Young People with an emotional or physical disability are welcome within our Coaching and Leadership Academy
Young people do not have to participate in sport to engage with our Coaching and Leadership Academy
Young Coaches will learn the fundamentals of coaching, leadership and role modelling.
Young Coaches will understand the basics of leading a coaching session including planning, setting up, instructing and session closure.
Learnings will focus on knowing how to progress an activity, challenging people to do better and ensuring all participants are engaged and having fun.
Health and safety when coaching is priority number one, we will teach our Young Coaches on how to manage sessions by focusing on the STEP principle: space, time, equipment and people.
Young Coaches will understand how to ensure their sessions are of the highest standard without compromising the health and safety of others.
Coaches are Role Models, our Young Coaches will understand the fundamentals to becoming a role model when coaching activities.
We will teach the ABC-L standards of Role Modelling: Appearance, Behaviour, Communication and Lifestyle; which are the fundamentals of being a great role model.
Our first fully funded Coaching Academy will be held at The Grange Academy, Runcorn working across first class facilities to support sport, dance and learning.
Day 1 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Tuesday 16th August.
Day 2 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Wednesday 17th August.
Day 3 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Thursday 18th August.
Working across three days, Young Coaches will learn the theoretical and practical elements of coaching including:
Certification will be awarded on the completion of three days which includes the self design and delivery of a live coaching session within our Health and Wellbeing Activity Camp.
Our second fully funded Coaching Academy will be held at Sandymoor Ormiston Academy, Runcorn working across first class facilities to support sport, dance and learning.
Day 1 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Monday 22nd August.
Day 2 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Tuesday 23rd August.
Day 3 – From 10am until 2.30pm on Wednesday 24th August.
